ICE Reports Large-Scale Deportations Over Fiscal Year

(MENAFN) US immigration enforcement carried out more than 442,000 deportations during the 2025 fiscal year, marking a significant increase compared with the previous year, according to reports citing official data.

The figures show that United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement removed 442,637 individuals between October 2024 and September 2025. This represents an increase of roughly 171,000 cases compared with the prior fiscal period.

Despite the rise, the total remains far below the target previously set by US President Donald Trump during his campaign, in which he pledged to reach one million deportations per year.

The data was included in a congressional budget justification document and is described as the first official deportation breakdown released under the current administration.

According to reports, the Office of Homeland Security Statistics has not updated its publicly available figures since November 2024, leaving a gap in more recent official tracking.

The report also notes that so-called “self-deportation” numbers—previously highlighted in agency statements as exceeding two million—were not included in the latest dataset, and have not been regularly published in detailed form.

At the same time, the agency is reportedly preparing for an ambitious removal target of one million deportations in the coming year. However, budget requests suggest reduced funding in some areas, including lower allocations for detention, transportation, and overtime pay for enforcement personnel.

The United States Department of Homeland Security is said to have proposed cuts totaling hundreds of millions of dollars, including reductions in operational spending tied to immigration enforcement activities.
