Israeli Airstrikes Kill Dozens in Southern Lebanon
Emergency teams, including civil defense units and members of the Islamic Risala Scout Association, reportedly recovered four bodies and rescued three injured individuals from the rubble after an airstrike hit a residential complex in the Qadmous area of Al-Khodra.
In a separate incident in the town of Ansariyeh, five people were killed in an early morning strike, according to the same reports.
Three additional injuries were reported after another strike targeted the Abbasiya area in the Tyre district.
In Jbaa, located in the Nabatieh district, an airstrike on a home reportedly killed a man, his wife, and their two children, while another strike hit a vehicle in the Saadiyat area of Mount Lebanon.
The reported escalation comes as the US, Israel, and Lebanon agreed to begin direct negotiations following a trilateral meeting at the US State Department in Washington, DC, on Tuesday, according to an official statement released after the talks.
The discussions mark the first direct diplomatic engagement between Israel and Lebanon in more than three decades, amid ongoing military operations in southern Lebanon that have reportedly killed more than 2,000 people and displaced around one million residents.
