Eurostar cancels train services due to issue with Channel Tunnel's
Eurostar announced that a technical failure affecting the tunnel’s power supply, followed by a malfunctioning shuttle train, had created conditions in which services were facing “major disruption” and were likely to suffer extensive delays and last-minute cancellations.
In a subsequent update, the operator said it “strongly advised” passengers to postpone their journeys and travel on an alternative date instead.
“Please don’t come to the station unless you already have a ticket to travel,” the company added in its latest notice to customers.
Travel information indicated that routes linking London with Paris and Brussels were either suspended or running significantly behind schedule throughout the day. At major terminals, passengers were informed via bilingual announcements that services had been canceled entirely for Tuesday.
Eurostar provides international high-speed rail connections across several Western European countries, linking the UK with destinations in continental Europe.
