Trump states ties with Japan will reach ground-breaking strength
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that relations between the United States and Japan will reach unprecedented strength during a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi in Tokyo.
“I have always had a great love and respect for Japan… this will be a relationship stronger than ever before,” Trump said, pledging full support for Tokyo and describing the nations as allies “at the strongest level.” He highlighted Japan’s growing military capacity and noted that bilateral trade has reached historic highs, with a new trade deal in the works.
Takaichi praised Trump’s commitment to peace and stability and expressed her vision for a “new golden age” of the US-Japan alliance. She reaffirmed Japan’s readiness to strengthen diplomacy, defense, economic power, technology, intelligence, and human resources while promoting a free and open Indo-Pacific.
