Global Sumud Flotilla Describes Israeli Claims as “Verifiably False”

(MENAFN) Organizers of the Global Sumud Flotilla on Friday criticized Israel’s assertions that its relief voyage to Gaza lacked substantial humanitarian cargo, describing the statements as “verifiably false.”

In an official declaration, the flotilla emphasized that its boats were “meticulously documented, loaded with medical supplies, food, and other life-saving goods for people in Gaza being systematically starved by Israel.”

The organizers pointed out that reporters, observers of human rights, legislators, and relief agencies had already confirmed the existence of aid onboard.

“Israel’s denial is nothing more than another entry in a long record of lies,” the statement read, appealing to global news outlets to cease repeating Israeli governmental narratives.

The flotilla underlined that its objective has always been transparent: to challenge the Gaza siege and create a steady humanitarian passage for continuous assistance.

It admitted that, although the materials transported were modest in volume, they were both “real because they were urgently needed, and representative because civilian ships cannot carry the full scale of aid Gaza requires, which only becomes possible once the blockade is lifted.”

The flotilla further charged Israel with running a “systematic smear campaign” intended to undermine attempts to reinforce international legal norms while diverting attention from its own breaches.

The statement referenced a consistent pattern of misinformation, citing Israeli rejections of hospital bombings, civilian starvation, convoy disruptions, and the targeting of aid workers — actions that have subsequently been recorded by UN agencies, human rights groups, and journalists.
