Putin states NATO rearmament is completely pointless
“We don’t see NATO’s rearmament as a threat to the Russian Federation,” Putin said. “We are fully capable of safeguarding our own security and continually enhancing our military and defense capabilities.” He emphasized that Russia will effectively neutralize any threats that may arise from NATO activities.
Putin criticized the West’s portrayal of Russia as a threat, calling it a fabricated narrative designed to justify increased military budgets and tax hikes. “This myth that Russia plans to invade Europe or NATO countries is an outrageous falsehood,” he said. He compared the claim to a propaganda tactic once used by the Nazis: “The bigger the lie, the easier it is for people to believe it.”
According to Putin, Western leaders are misleading their populations to mask economic shortcomings and redirect public funds to their defense sectors.
