Israeli Drone Strike on Lebanon Leaves One Dead, Three Injured
The attack occurred mere kilometers from Beirut's international airport, creating massive traffic disruptions along the major thoroughfare and causing damage to multiple parked vehicles, the agency stated.
Emergency responders rushed ambulances to the strike location, evacuating casualties to area medical facilities for treatment.
Israeli military officials confirmed eliminating an operative linked to Iran's Quds Force during the Lebanon operation, according to their official statement.
The targeted militant, whose name remains undisclosed, had been "smuggling weapons and advancing terror attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF (Israel Defense Forces) troops, on behalf of the Iranian Quds Force, in the area of Sil in Lebanon," the statement said. Sil sits within the Mount Lebanon Governorate, adjacent to Khaldeh.
The strike represents the most recent Israeli military action in Lebanon despite a ceasefire accord established in November 2024 that concluded 14 months of cross-border hostilities.
