PKK terrorist group carries on with its propaganda in Europe
The report, titled The European Union Terrorism Situation and Trend Report (EU TE-SAT) 2025, revealed that out of 27 arrests related to ethno-nationalist and separatist terrorism offenses within the EU in 2024, over half—15 arrests—involved individuals primarily linked to the PKK.
“The PKK continued its significant presence across the EU, engaging in political advocacy, fundraising, recruitment, and propaganda dissemination,” the report stated. This analysis draws from both qualitative and quantitative data provided by member states, covering terrorist incidents, arrests, convictions, and sentences related to terror offenses.
The annual report emphasized that the PKK uses its networks to sustain its operations and maintain influence over the Kurdish diaspora. Its activities mix legal political engagement with covert financial and recruitment efforts.
The report estimated that the PKK raises more than €30 million (approximately $34.7 million) annually across Europe through fundraising initiatives.
Additionally, it noted the group’s ongoing involvement in illicit financial activities, including money laundering, extortion, and fraud.
