Turkish FM phones Chinese counterpart to discuss regional issues
During the call, both ministers reviewed recent developments in the region and exchanged views on measures to reduce hostilities between the two Middle Eastern countries. Fidan condemned the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Gaza and denounced what he described as an ongoing Israeli genocide.
Both officials reaffirmed their support for a two-state solution, viewing it as the only viable path toward resolving the longstanding Israel-Palestine conflict.
The discussion also covered bilateral political and economic relations, with both sides expressing a shared commitment to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, and other sectors.
A statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry reported Wang’s comments, highlighting that Israel and the U.S. attacks on Iran, justified by citing “possible future threats,” violated international law and Iran’s sovereignty. He warned that these actions set a “bad precedent” and undermine the global nuclear non-proliferation regime.
