Russia Anticipates Next Ukraine Peace Talks
“We expect that some estimates will be made this week for the third round,” Peskov informed journalists in Moscow.
He acknowledged that while it remains “difficult to guess” the precise date, some certainty is expected to emerge before the beginning of July.
The initial two sessions of the revived face-to-face negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv occurred in the major Turkish city of Istanbul on May 16 and June 2.
As per information from Russian officials, both parties exchanged preliminary draft memorandums outlining a potential peace resolution.
They also consented to exchange severely injured prisoners of war and the remains of fallen soldiers.
Russia reported that approximately 6,000 bodies of deceased Ukrainian troops were handed over as part of the arrangement.
Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier remarked that the timing for the upcoming round of dialogue would probably be set after June 22.
